“I have trust issues”: Cresta on AI forecasting with Von
Ted Ranney, Senior Director, Business Data & Intelligence at Cresta, is a self-described cynical and skeptical data analyst. He shares his experience with Von, an AI tool that has earned their trust despite initial reservations. He describes how Von's forecasting predictions came within five percent of their FP&A model results, which was a pivotal moment in building confidence. He now regularly use Von for various tasks, including analyzing pipeline generation numbers and checking Gong evidence for deal forecasting accuracy, with the tool delivering results in just minutes.

Three, two, one second. Hello.
I have trust issues. I've always said, I think the data analyst, data analyst people and finance people should always be the most skeptical people in the room.
I am a cynical. You can ask my coworkers. I'm cynical. I'm skeptical. I think that's healthy.
It's just the two of us and there's a lot of requests coming in.
I went in and kind of push Von to see where it thinks we will land. It landed within like five percent of where the FP&A model built out. Just one of those moments of like, okay, this thing knows what it's doing. I usually just have Von open in a side window.
I was in a meeting with somebody looking at pipeline gen numbers. Are there any deals that were generated recently where there's Gong evidence that we are under forecasting how much this deal is? And I think it ran in like three minutes. I have trust issues.
I'm just gonna run it through Von.
